Back to the future—this time with the conditional tense and subjunctive too. This class is for you if you know all the major verb tenses and are looking forward to being totally fluent very soon. You'll learn how to add some color into your everyday conversation by being able to share your opinions and dreams.
Each class meets at the same time for 10 weeks - creating consistency in your language learning.
We believe in hands-on learning, rather than getting lost in a textbook or sucked into perfection of grammar.
We exclusively hire instructors with a conversation based and student-centered approach to teaching, providing the best in-class experience.
Speaking is at the heart of all of our classes, and in an immersive setting, you’ll get even more opportunity to practice critical speaking and listening skills.
Step 1
Past subjunctive tense. Passive voice. Relative pronouns. French idioms.
Step 2
If you've already taken French level 4, or completed French Progressions with us, this course is for you. If you've studied French before, and can confidently conjugate verbs in the future, present and past conditional, pluperfect, and present subjunctive tenses, you should start here.
Step 3
Discussing past experiences. Describe regrets and frustrations. Talk about ethics and alternate realities.
Step 4
From day one, you'll be engaging in meaningful conversation with your classmates and instructors. This will prepare you to feel confident and comfortable when speaking with natives.
We love questions, almost as much as we love providing answers. Here are a few samplings of what we're typically asked, along with our responses
Most students do miss a class, or two, and we’re here to help ensure that you won’t fall behind despite any missed classes. We’ve set up our curriculum to make lessons easy to follow along outside of class, and your teacher will reach out to your group each week with a summary of materials, topics, and homework covered in-class.
Only students 18 years or older can participate in this course. If you are looking for options for students under 18, please check out our Kids and Teens page!
As long as the group course has not been cancelled or it has spots left, there is no deadline to sign up. However, we strongly encourage you to sign up at least two weeks in advance in order to secure your spot!
We know our students and teachers probably have holiday plans, so we don't hold classes on Federal holidays.
Our online group classes meet for a total of 20 hours of live instruction. We have weekly classes (2 hours once a week for 10 sessions) and biweekly classes (1 hour twice a week for a total of 20 sessions).
Plans change—we get it. You have until 7 days before the start date of your Group Course to make any cancelations or same-level transfers. After that, there are no refunds under any circumstances. During the first 2 weeks of class, however, if you feel your level isn't the right fit, reach out to help@fluentcity.com, and we will transfer you to a better fit, free of charge!
